So I finished Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows yesterday. Wow. Some parts I really didn't like at all.
I didn't like the list of dead people, either. Rowling killed off some characters I really liked. TT_TT And then she didn't kill of characters I really hated. Some of the stuff was completely unbelievable and came out of nowhere. How the hell can Ron be a parseltongue?!
I really don't want to say too much, but I was a bit disappointed.
But it was still good. ^_^* Even though it pissed me off a little.
Today my friend I hadn't seen in years texted me asking if I wanted to do lunch together, but I didn't get the message until an hour later when I had already made plans to go to Palm Springs (an 1 hour 1/2 away) with my sister to return her rental car and get her car back. So we missed each other. Totally sucks. I'm just afraid she'll think I'm a flake and not put any more effort into meeting up. We haven't exactly been best friends over the years, but she is a really fun person to hang out with, and she is one of the few people I really missed when I moved away.
Relationships are delicate things.
I'm not sure if this may be true for everyone, but people today are distancing themselves from each other more and more. We don't call each other, we text. We don't sit down at a cafe and chat, we go on AIM. Don't get me wrong, these things are extremely convenient, but I think we are missing out.
SO!
From this day forth, I will put more effort into meeting up with friends so we can strengthen our beautiful bonds and grow together in harmony!~
I will ban:
1) Anti-Social behavior!
2) ^ actually, that pretty much sums it up...
I should probably study for that Sociology test that's coming up.
Heh heh heh....^_^'''''
I own 120+ manga, and I think it will be fun to review them!~ Gives me something to do! ^_^
Good Luck (Vol. 1)
Publisher: TOKYOPOP (2006)
Manhwa-ga: E-Jin Kang
Rating: T (Teen, 13+)
Genre: Romance/Drama
Description: Shi-Hyun is pure bad luck. That's what everyone says...and in some ways, she believes it. So for their protection and her own, she's developed a hard shell that keeps people at bay.
But when Shi-Hyun transfer to a new school, an array of new characters comes into her life. The Queen Bee has a cool personality and the fighting skills to match. The Cold Prince has looks and demeanor to make all the girls scoon. And what about the nice girl, Hee-Soo--the only one who'll come near Shi-Hyun? Well, she has an agenda of her own...
Review: I was actually quite disappointed with the art. The artwork on the cover led me on, but inside, the artwork is very stiff and under-developed. I think that with time, Kang's artwork will get better. But some of the things I liked about the artwork were the cute faces Shi-Woo made. The teddy bear-esque faces tha Shi-Hyun made when she was shocked were priceless, too.
Although the plot is a bit slow, and perhaps cliche, the characters are the best part. Shi-Hyun, although she has the whole "I'm bad luck" complex, is very down to earth and doesn't put up with Shi-Woo's weird lovey-dovey behavior. She also doesn't let bullies get her down. I think it's awesome that she stands up for herself when things get out of control. I'm tired of the female-lead who waits until she is rescued. Although Shi-Woo, Shi-Hyun's step-brother, seems to be an utter (but very bishie) idiot, he has a very kind heart and likes Shi-Hyun more than she thinks. Ma-Hyun isn't your typical "I'll kick your ass if you say I'm cute" bishie. One of the things I like about him is that he gets all goofy whenever Shi-Hyun is around, which I find to be refreshing, and always leads to a comedic situation.
All in all, I give GOOD LUCK three (* * *) stars
One week until Harry Potter is delivered to my doorstep! I am really excited, and at the same time sad that it will all end... TT_TT
I've been wanting to bake for a while, but I haven't been able to find the flour. And no one wants to take me to the store (LIE). I really want to make the Italian doughnuts I made junior year. Those were GREAT!~ I'm sure I still have the recipe somewhere...
The movie (HP) was really good. Although Luna was different than I had imagined, I still liked her character a lot. The movie was good, but if I had my way, the book would be the script. But then the movie would be 17 hours long and cost a loadX1,000,000 and no one would want to stay in a theatre that long (except me, of course).
That's all for now.
Thank You! I'm glad that someone understands *nod nod* (o^_^o) read more
